3-Day Italy Trip: Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri

Incredible! 100 recommend this tour - every part of it was organised and structured. Swapping the bus after Pompeii was the only downside, but that took 10 mins and they organised it well. We loved Sorrento and Capri and would visit again if we could! Loved this.

Was an amazing tour for my family of 5. Well run, great tour guides and EXCEPTIONAL hotel, which was the Tramontano in Sorrento. The restaurant was world class and the restaurant staff were absolutely the best there is. Capri was absolutely breathtaking and Sorrento was simply the quaintest town we've visited with lots of nice shopping. Naples was a rather quick stop. Pompeii was amazing to see and hear about on our two hour walking tour. A lot of history there. It's been very hot while we've been here, but very enjoyable nonetheless.

I was very glad I took this side tour from Rome. Considering all that was included, the price was very reasonable. The bus drive down was not especially scenically spectacular other than the view of the Monastery at Monte Cassino. A superhighway in Italy isn't that different from one in the US. The spot selected for lunch was quite nice, the food was good and there were good clean facilities. The tour of Naples showed how beautiful the area by the sea is here. I found out later that the museum in Naples has a lot of Pompeii and Herculaneum artifacts. It would have been nice if that could have been included. Our Pompeii tour guide was very good and went at a reasonable pace for me at least. I hadn't realized how much of the site is still an active dig so a lot is not available to view. We saw examples of the businesses, houses and baths that the residents would have used which were very interesting. There is so much more of the town layout to see that you really need to visit here to get a concept of what Rome would have been like. I stayed in a hotel in Sorrento that had a breathtaking view and excellent meals. I enjoyed the trip to Capri and the Blue Grotto, but it was a bit too much of an expensive shopping opportunity. I took in the views instead. The only thing that disappointed me was that I thought a tour along the Amalfi coast was included rather than an extra. I spent the third day sitting on my hotel terrace catching up on my diary and having lunch by the pool. That was fine, too. Overall, this was an excellent experience.

I wanted a quick getaway from Rome and this tour fit the bill. It was very well organized, and the hotel in Sorrento was lovely, no need to upgrade. The scenery was gorgeous of course, and all the guides but one which I'll discuss in a moment were helpful and cheerful.
I was disappointed in the guide to Pompeii. She was hard to hear and understand and didn't seem to care at all. I asked her several questions and the answers were brusque at best. It was a shame, I wanted to learn about Pompeii and she was ..... A hindrance to put it politely. Still, the whole tour itself carrani was a good value and well done. I'd book something like this again.

Excellent tour. Hotel and room were great. Staff at Grand Hotel Vesuvio was very helpful. Food at the hotel was excellent. View from hotel balcony of the blue water and Mt. Vesuvio was the best. The hotel certainly was better than expected. Only down side was it was a little further away from city center, but we did not mind. Naples part of the tour is a waste of time.
