This was a great experience for my 9yro son and me. It all started with our tour driver, David, who was quite knowledgable of Seattle. He took an inclusive approach to encourage all of the tourist on the bus to introduce themselves. David was very accommodating and ensured that his passengers were well taken care of. The primary reason for visiting the Boeing Factory was for my son. He aspires to be a pilot some day. He lives and breaths anything that's remotely close to a Heavy aircraft. He has been passionate about airplanes since 2.5yrso. His endeavor will make him the first in our family. I only share this because, this trip was the ultimate experience for him. The Boeing Factory tour provided enough time to see two separate hanger bays. Our Boeing tour guide, Christopher, was quite animated and looked the part with his Pork-chop styled sideburns. He shared personal experiences as the young son of a Boeing employee from many years ago and how Boeing had changed during that time. Things to note if you're taking a kids: I encourage you to pack a few healthy snacks/sandwiches/water. Although we had breakfast 8AM we didn't return to Pike Market until 12:30pm. I was uncertain as to whether there was a Boeing museum cafe or place to purchase food. You should inquire before you go. Understandably, patrons are discouraged from eating or drinking on the tour bus for the obvious reasons leaving a mess behind or staining their new interiors. If it's unclear about bringing a backpack, purse, camera, cellphone, etc. the Boeing museum has a limited number of very nice lockers which are free for patrons use and they have various sizes to accommodate a cellphone or a school size backpack. But please keep in mind they have a limited number of lockers!!! So, at least, bring your cellphone/camera with you so that you can take photos inside of the museum and also from the observation deck which overlooks the airfield and Boeing hangers. You can reach the observation deck via stairs or an elevator weather permitting! After the tour, our final approach conveniently landed us at the Boeing gift shop...which was divine. I had to purchase another suitcase to bring all of the new 1:400 scale planes home. Thank you and safe travels!
