See the Jakobskirche (church) with an altar built by the famous wood-carver, Tilman Riemenschneider. Upon arrival in Rothenburg, a taxi will take you to your hotel. In the afternoon or evening join the city walk with a local guide or historic Night Watchman in Rothenburg.

After breakfast, a taxi will meet you at your hotel and take you to the bus stop. Day 3: Hohenschwangau - Munich (B)
Your entrance tickets for the Neuschwanstein Castle are waiting for you at the front desk of your hotel. Visit the famous 'Cinderella Castle', built by King Ludwig II. This castle brings back memories of children's fairy tale stories. A breathtaking sight in the Pollat River gorge, the castle was well equipped with revolutionary (at that time) technical devices. I was slightly worried this tour was going to be too organised for my liking but I was wrong!
I turned up at the tour office to collect my tickets, given an envelope and was told to go to a bus stop - from there on in I was practically on my own. The envelope contained bus tickets, vouchers for taxis and reservations for hotels.
Apart from the Nightwatchman tour around Rothenburg, there was no guide but that was absolutely fine by me - there was an audio recording playing on the Romantic Road bus which was detailed.
The bus stopped at many of the towns along the way for photos and a stretch of legs. First night in a lovely hotel in Rothenburg with 1/2 a day to explore followed by another half day the following day then back on the bus to overnight stay at Hohenschwangau for another lovely hotel.
All day to explore the castles before being picked up by a different bus to be taken to Munich.
All in all a great trip that I would do again and recommend to others.
