Barcelona and Montserrat Tour with Skip-the-Line Park Güell Entry and Hotel or Port Pickup
Numbers are limited to 12 on this small-group tour, ensuring you’ll see everything with personalized attention from your guide.
Barcelona is famous for its links to Antoni Gaudi – Spain’s celebrated Modernist architect – and the city is scattered with his highly acclaimed works. Stop outside for a panoramic visit to one of his more extraordinary creations -- the still-unfinished La Sagrada Familia cathedral -- and then pose for photos outside Casa Batlló with its eye-catching exterior.
Travel along the glitzy shopping strip of Passeig de Gracia, passing other architectural sites of interest like Casa Amataller and Casa Morera, and then head to Gaudi’s Park Güell. Make your way past the long entrance lines with your skip-the-line ticket and then spend some time exploring with your guide. Easily one of the most impressive public spaces in the world, the gardens are said to encapsulate Gaudi’s creative genius with an abundance of colorful mosaics and intriguing gatehouses.
After a break for lunch (own expense), hop back on board your minibus and travel west to Montserrat, the craggy mountain in the middle of Spain’s first national park. Walk through the park and learn about the area’s history, and head inside Santa Maria de Montserrat, the beautiful Benedictine abbey and basilica where thousands of Christian pilgrims have journeyed over the centuries. Learn about the Virgin of Montserrat (known as the Black Virgin) and take in incredible views toward Barcelona. If you’re lucky, you may catch a performance by La Escalonia – the oldest children’s choir in Europe – who performs regularly here.
Return to Barcelona by minibus, and finish your tour back at your central hotel or cruise port in the early evening.

This was a fantastic tour. We were picked up at Plaza Catalunya because our hotel was just a little down on the Ramblas. Our 15 people tour van showed up on time and our guide called us by name! We were the first to be picked up and we went to each groups hotels to pick our group up.
We were given a clear explanation of our schedule and were taken to Montserrat first. This was because our guide Dolsa wanted to beat the crowd of the long weekend. Dolsa is very warm and friendly. Her english is fluent and she gave us great information on our one hour drive to the mountain. We did not have time to explore every trail around Montserrat but it was a nice overview of the place.
In the afternoon, we went to a vantage point on Montjuic, walked around the outside of Sagrada Familia and then to Park Guell. Again, we did not see every corner of the park but had enough time to get a good idea of the place. We were then taken back to our pick-up point.
What made the tour so special was Dolsa. She knew when to let us doze off on the ride, when to give us the photo ops we want, gave great information, minimized how much we had to walk, and took great care of us all around. She actually sounded like she liked the places she took us to, which I cant say of other guides.

We were 4 to take the tour together and there were 5 others in the minibus with us. The tour was great and our guide was excellent. This is definitely the one to do if you have a full day in Barcelona. Very good history and culture lessons.
