Highlights

  • Popular choice with kids
  • Hotel pickup included
  • Led by a local guide
  • All entrance fees included
After a pickup from central London, travel to Oxford, a city that boasts one of the world's greatest and oldest universities as well as some of the finest architecture in Europe. See it all on a walking tour, and learn all about the colleges themselves, with their ivy-clad stone walls that protect the beautiful chapels, halls and libraries.

From Oxford, travel onward by coach to Stratford-upon-Avon to visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare: one of the greatest writers in the English language. Then, enjoy some free time to explore the market town that’s home to the theaters of the famous Royal Shakespeare Company. A river winds its way through the town past Holy Trinity church, where Shakespeare is buried. There are half-wooden buildings which date back to Shakespeare's time, including the cottage of Anne Hathaway, who he married in 1582. After exploring, enjoy lunch in one of the town’s many cafes or restaurants (own expense).

Continue from Stratford-upon-Avon to Warwick, home to Warwick Castle. With a history dating back over 1,000 years, the castle will take you to an era of banquets, battles and royal splendor. After entering, your guide will leave you to explore independently. Listen to an introduction to the historical site from Warwick Castle’s history team, and then explore the site at leisure. See the waxwork displays from Madame Tussauds that are showcased at the castle, and see and hear of the Earl of Warwick's preparations for battle. Then, perhaps take a look at the ghostly dungeons where prisoners were tortured. Then, simply meet your guide back on board your coach to travel back to central London.

Very impressed and highly recommend! Guide was great, very interesting and fun. We learned a lot of interesting things. We had enough time at each location to see it. Loved Warwick Castle, Oxford and Stator Upon Avon. Bus very nice and comfortable too.

This tour was very nice - however be warned that the day starts off stressfully at Victoria Coach Station. However, once you're on the tour bus, you can sit back and relax. The tour guide we had was very informative and told us about each stop before we got there. It is a whistle stop tour, so you don't get much time at each location. We quickly made our way through Warwick Castle and ran back to the bus before heading off to Stratford-upon-Avon. We we're excited about this stop, but it was a disappointment. The Shakespeare museum was so packed wall-to-wall people that it didn't feel safe. It would have been nice to go see some other sites off the beaten track, like Anne Hathaway's house. The star of the show was Oxford. We enjoyed this tour so much, we want to go back and spend more time. Make sure you do Christ Church Oxford, because that made the entire tour worthwhile. Several people on tour who didn't select the option wanted to add it at that time, but weren't able to. We also got to skip the line and we made it in before the masses, which was nice. If you're a fan of Harry Potter, you will love this place. Parts of the movie we're actually filmed here and it was just a beautiful place to visit.
