Stonehenge stands alone in the vast empty tract of Salisbury plain. Its origins date back nearly 5,000 years and it has been home to pagan religion, spiritual worship and public debate ever since. What was this vast collection of stones intended for? Was Stonehenge an observatory of the moon, a temple to the sun, or an elaborate cemetery? Who were the people who carried and carved these 40 ton rocks? Prepare to be amazed as you walk around its perimeter and ponder this mysterious feat of ancient engineering.

Note, you can spend approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes at Stonehenge. The journey from London takes just over 2 hours each way.

Great simple trip to Stonehenge and back. It takes 2 hour drive each way. Our driver was very safe. We had about 1 hour and 45 minutes at Stonehenge which is barely enough time to see it all. I don't' know how you could possibly see it all with other trips allowing just one hour there, especially if forced to wait in lines. I selected this trip because I wanted more time at Stonehenge than tours combining Bath, etc. We departed London at 2pm. I really liked going to Stonehenge later in the day. It was less crowded and the lighting on the stones as the sun was setting was beautiful. We did not have to wait in line at all for the shuttle buses. If we had waited in line or walked 15 minutes each way it really would have cut into our time there. We had time to quickly browse the gift shop and a quick walk through in the Visitor's Centre. The Visitor's Centre is new and definitely worth a visit if you have time. I was concerned that I would be missing out on the Stonehenge experience if we didn't have time to see it. The audio guide provided did an excellent job of explaining the stones, I didn't feel like I had to do further reading at the Visitor's Centre. The real experience is with the stones and the rest is just bonus.

Martin and Premium tours was fantastic. Great sense of humor and full of random, interesting facts as you drive by London and beyond! Excellent value, especially if you are low on time. Our toilet was out of order, so use one beforehand. Comfortable coach. Make sure you realize you're literally going to see just a pile of cool rocks and maybe the huts near the visitor center. If you have time beforehand, go on the tube and 1 or 2 stops away via South Kensington stop is the National History Museum free! cool dinosaurs! from the Victoria tube and coach station. Give yourself plenty of time to walk outside from Victoria tube station to Victoria coach station or else you'll be rushing at least 8-10 minutes. Basic sandwiches etc may be bought at the visitor center, but I just went ahead and brought my own. Audio tour included, sheep sightings around the rocks. : Martin was the best tour guide! THANK YOU!
