A setting like the magnificent Sydney Harbour demands a spectacular opera, so prepare for a performance of huge proportions at 'Carmen' by the Handa Opera. The ultimate femme fatale is here to stamp her feet, toss her hair and dance with salt in the air, light on the sails light up the waters around the floating stage with the Sydney Harbour Bridge as backdrop for four weeks only in 2017.
Carmen stamps her feet, tosses back her hair and draws you into her world. Men fall instantly under her spell, and once you’ve heard her sultry Habanera, you’ll fall for opera’s favorite femme fatale, too.

What grander setting could there be for such a performance than Sydney Harbour itself, awash with the light of the city and the Sydney Opera House silhouetted against the setting sun? Opera on the Harbour will open on March 24, 2017 for an exclusive four-week season, playing nightly on a purpose-built floating stage on Sydney Harbour. With the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge as a backdrop, this is a musical performance you won't forget.

Available for four weeks only from March 24 to April 23, 2017, Opera on the Harbour has become a huge part of the cultural landscape, combining all of the things Sydney does best: world-class opera, Champagne and fine dining, and sunsets and spectacle on the Harbour's edge.

Traveler Reviews

This was the highlight of my trip! The seats in the 2nd row from the stage boasted magnificent views and audio of the Opera, as well as, the harbor with the Opera House as a picturesque background ( the Opera on the Harbor season was in full swing). Opera Turandot was simply superb in its entirety.

We saw Turandot and it was spectacular. The location was beyond spectacular and the performers were wonderful
