Visit the Heilig-Bloedbasiliek, a church that holds a vial of Christ’s blood. Or marvel at the artistic masterpieces at the Groeningemuseum, which displays paintings dating back to the 14th century.
Admire the architectural beauty of the buildings in bustling Markt and Burg squares and watch fascinating lace-making demonstrations at the Kantcentrum. Or simply stroll the streets of Bruges and cruise its canals, soaking up the warm, friendly atmosphere of this lovely Belgian city. If desired, you can also enjoy a 1-hour guided walking tour of the city.
After 5 hours of discovering Bruges at your leisure, travel by coach back to Amsterdam.

I loved this trip from beginning to end! I think a great tour guide always makes a tour extra special and this was no exception. It was a larger group tour, but unlike the Brussels/Antwerp day tour it was not over crowded and actually had substance. The bus was a double decker and was extremely comfortable. I was lucky enough to have a row all to myself and could truly enjoy the trip which was about 3 hours each way. We got a lot of history going and coming from Bruges. Once in Bruges we were treated to a nice walking tour. The city is compact enough and teeming with lots of history which made it that much more special! Free time was greatly appreciated and because I had done my research picked the three things that I absolutely wanted to do during my free time. As most people have said in Bruges you could always use more free time as there is so much to do. I had an amazing lunch off the beaten path, got some chocolate at Dumon, Did the boat ride, got some lace, and was able to still have a little more time to visit some of the must see historical points of interest. I recommend this trip to everyone and definitely over the Brussels one. My only recommendation is to understand you will not be able to see everything so pick a few things that are most of interest to you. The boat ride is nice because it gives you a different perspective of the city. Also if you have time, maybe spend overnight there and take the train back!
