Sit back, relax and enjoy a scenic drive through the Sonora Desert for a day of amazing scenic diversity. Travel north to Sedona and see Arizona’s iconic saguaro cactus. Admire the desert scenery before reaching the world-famous Red Rock country. Take a break, stretch your legs and enjoy time for photos before journeying to Grand Canyon.
Based on time, your picnic lunch will either be served in Sedona or at the Grand Canyon.
Take in scenic views of the Oak Creek Canyon from the highway and see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest. Drive up 6,000 feet (1,800 meters) and arrive at the stunning Grand Canyon National Park. Spend at least three hours with your knowledgeable guide exploring the widest and deepest part of the canyon, which stretches 277 miles (445 km) long. Visit the El Tovar Hotel and Hopi House in Grand Canyon Village, and enjoy multiple scenic lookout points along the East Rim Drive. Take time to shop, take a walk along the canyon’s rim, enjoy photo opportunities and visit cultural exhibits along the rim.
As you leave the Grand Canyon, marvel at the vistas across the Painted Desert as you enter the largest reservation in America, the Navajo Nation. Your guide will introduce you to the Navajo region, and you’ll enjoy views of the Little Colorado River Gorge. Visit the Navajo Trading Post before returning through the Colorado Plateau. Then, enjoy a scenic ride back to the Phoenix-Scottsdale area.

The Grand Canyon was on my bucket list and it was breathtaking! Charlie, our guide was great. He was very knowledgeable with a dry sense of humor. He gave us lots of interesting information about the people and the area. We got to see it from several different places. Our 13 person van was perfect. We avoided stopping where the buses stopped for lunch and we were able to take a shortcut to avoid traffic. We loved the fact that we ordered delicious, healthy lunches ahead of time, and everyone ate when they were hungry. There was only one stopping shop and we didn't feel like we wasted a lot of time there. The stop in Sedonia was relatively short, but we had been there before so that was not a problem for us. This was my first experience with Viatour and I will definitely use them again.
