Itinerary:
Day 1: Kathmandu – Chitwan National Park (L, D)
Your tour begins in the early morning with a 7am coach ride to Chitwan that departs from a bus stop at Kantipath, just off Thamel. Relax on the 5-hour journey and watch the landscape transform as you travel from the cool climate of Kathmandu’s hills and terraced fields to Chitwan’s subtropical flood plains and grasslands. When you reach the national park, enter a lost world of towering trees and twisting vines that is home to rhinos, elephants, crocodiles and deer. You might even spot the elusive Royal Bengal tiger! Meet your hotel representative for the 10- to 15-minute walk to your accommodation at the Royal Park Hotel, where a brief orientation session will be held. After lunch, take a ride in a bullock cart, the local form of transport, to visit a nearby tribal village and museum dedicated to the culture and history of the indigenous Tharu people. Return to your hotel for a pre-dinner cultural show performed by a local troupe.

Overnight: Royal Park Hotel, Chitwan
National Park

Day 2: Chitwan National Park (B, L, D)
Spend the morning at your leisure, then after an early lunch embark on a jeep safari to the Chitwan wetlands. Your wildlife safari leads you deep into the jungle, where you might spot one-horned rhinos, deer, bison and monkeys. Keep a look out for less commonly sighted animals such as bears, leopards and Bengal tigers. Return to your hotel for an informative slide presentation on Chitwan’s vegetation and wildlife conducted by a naturalist with a wealth of knowledge about Nepal. Enjoy dinner at your hotel and spend the remainder of the evening relaxing.

Overnight: Royal Park Hotel, Chitwan National Park

Day 3: Chitwan National Park (B, L, D)
After breakfast at your hotel, cruise down the Budhi Rapti River in a dugout canoe to catch sights of sunbathing crocodiles and the park’s multitude of birds. For more bird-watching, take a guided nature walk with an expert to spot Chitwan’s varied birdlife. After lunch, join your naturalist guide on another walk through the jungle. Stay to watch the sun set behind the trees and enjoy a drink at a riverside bar before returning to your hotel for dinner.

Overnight: Royal Park Hotel, Chitwan National Park

Day 4: Chitwan National Park Kathmandu (B)
Following breakfast at your hotel, catch the 9:30am bus back to Kathmandu, arriving near Thamel at around 3pm.

1. I was the only tourist, and i had to travel to Chitwan by myself using the regular inter-city bus. No problem encountered, but still not very comfortable for its a long ride from kathmandu (6 hrs). Good part about the ride - lunch in a decent restaurant included, AC working (one way) and drinking bottled water for free.
2. Hotel in Chitwan. made of small bungalows - minimal comfort, power shortages frequent. But food was awesome and included in the price (3 times a day).
3. the jungle triips - excellent. Guides are professional.

Didn't enjoy the bus ride to Chitwan..very scary! I certainly enjoyed the canoe ride down the river, spotting crocs and various birdlife as well as the jeep safari. An early morning bird watching walk around the river was also enjoyable.
