What a wonderful experience. We were the only 2 on the trip so essentially it was a private tour. Matteo was a fabulous guide, very knowledgeable in the area and about wines. We were first brought to Castello Vicchiomaggio where we were given a tour we actually saw the owner of the winery! and had a nice lesson from Matteo on the nuances of Chianti wines, then it was off to Nozzole Winery, where again, it was a private tour through the winery with a wine tasting of 2 of their Chiantis and the evening ended with a dinner at the Castello San Polo where we had dinner in a mediaeval castle. There was a super full moon of the Tuscany hillside. No better way to celebrate my birthday. Even if you don't like wines, I would highly suggest this tour.

What a wonderful tour! We were a very small group and Serena was our guide. She was spectacular! She was overflowing with information and patiently answered all of our questions. She was so passionate about her job and it really reflected on how she cared for us throughout the day. The ride up to the winery while bumpy was beautiful. The dinner was excellent and of course the wine tastings were outstanding. Not to mention all that you learn about the grape harvesting, the wine making processes and of course selecting a true Chianti in the Tuscan region. I felt like an expert when the evening was over. I would highly recommend this tour. Be sure to ask for Serena. She really made the day even better.
