When the group arrives at the put-in you can take a few minutes to get your sunscreen loaded on while the guides get all of the boats ready to go. When the boats are ready the head guide will do a quick but thorough orientation on the type of boat you will be going down the river in (Orange Torpedo Kayak, Paddle Raft, or Oared Raft). When everyone is geared up it’s time to load in and start rafting the Rogue River. The adventure starts right away with the swift water leading into Hellgate Canyon, a scenic wonderland with forbidding cliffs rising from the water on both shores.
At the conclusion of Hellgate canyon is the groups first class II, Dunn Riffle, which is followed quickly by another fun class II rooster tail. After these riffles the group as a few scenic miles to take in the incredible Southern Oregon scenery while floating towards upper and Lower Galice, two more thrilling class II rapids, back to back.
Somewhere below Galice your head guide will find a nice riverside spot to take a break and grab lunch. The guides will prepare whatever the days meal will include while you relax in the sun or take a quick swim. Generally some fresh fruit, makings for a sandwich and or salad, and a tasty desert item are on the menu. After lunch and a little relaxing its back to the rafts and kayaks for some more Rogue River whitewater. In the afternoon you can look forward to numerous rapids including chair riffle, the extremely fun and long wave train of Alameda, and the always exciting trip conclusion at Argo rapid. Depending on the group and river level your Rogue River rafting trip will conclude at either Argo or Grave Creek boat ramp where the vans and some cold beverages will be waiting for you.

5 star experience all around! Our guide Casey was awesome, prepping us for each set of rapids we are beginner rafters and giving a nice description of each landmark we passed. This stretch of river has a good mix of rapids and calm areas, great for beginners or people who just want a relaxing day on the water. The Rogue is beautiful and it was so nice to get away from the city and unplug for a day. The company is very organized they had every aspect of the trip planned and everything went smoothly. Their store has anything you might have forgotten, we bought a waterproof camera to document the day. Highly recommend Orange Torpedo!
