Friendly and knowledgeable local guide, fellow passengers were very friendly as well. Great trip and scenery overall - definately recommended for anyone visiting Shanghai for the first time

I expected Suzhou, about an hour's motorway drive outside Shanghai, to be a sleepy village, but instead, it is now a major manufacturing area. We visited a traditional Chinese house and garden that was less traveled and more quaint than the Old City in Shanghai. The Zhouzhuang Water Village is newly renovated, but the attempt to recreate the old-world charm is mostly successful.

I am a seasoned traveler and this is my second trip to China. I was very disappointed with our tour guide Paula. She was 1/2hour late to pick me up at my Westin Bund Centre Hotel. I had to call to see where she was. She never asked to see my voucher. After we picked up a couple from another hotel near the airport, she asked us what tour we were on. She didn't know the details of the Water Town tour at all, in fact we had to tell her what the description was. She spoke very poor English and sniffled loudly all the time. She did not escort us into the Shuzhou Museum and then rushed us out of the town. We did not have a "Chinese Lunch" as mentioned in the tour description; we saw the silk factory but nothing else in Shuzhou. I was very disappointed. Zhouzhuang was the same thing. She acted so inexperienced and didn't know how to shephard us around and we were only 3 people.

The guide, Frank wasn't that informative.
He needs to brush up on his English.
Needs to stop hitting on the girls
Frank rushed us on certain parts of the trip, barely allowing us time to take pictures. However once we went to the silk factory he forced us to stay, even though we told him we were already done and we didn't want anything. It was just odd having him and the entire staff at the silk factory following your every move.
