Florence Concert and Dinner

I am highly recommending this excellent tour. A nice dinner at a local restaurant in an Italian-like cellar type restaurant. Food was great!! Then, you are in for a fantastico treat!! The opera singers and piano player at St. Mark's Church were beyond excellent!! Very moving and inspirational even if this is your first experience with opera or you don't even like opera at all. The setting is intimate and it just makes for beautiful acoustics in this very pretty church. I was brought to tears at one point from this wonderful experience. We had a great night!!!!

We loved this tour - would recommend to anyone visiting Florence. We met up early for dinner at a surprisingly cosy cellar restaurant. Over a pleasant dinner with plenty of wine and lively conversation we got to know the rest of our small group who hailed from - New Orleans, Malta and Germany (we are from the UK).
We then took a very short walk to the venue - a small church. Not knowing what to expect we were pleasantly surprised to be introduced to an internationally acclaimed musician who would act as host and accompany the artists on the piano. The artists were a Tenor and Soprano each one having received many plaudits and critical acclaim in their own right.
We were then treated to a selection of solos, arias and duets from popular operas and stage shows.
The small church was a perfect setting with excellent acoustics and our tour assured us of front row seats from which to enjoy our concert.
All in all this was a unique and intimate experience which will reprise on our ' to do ' list on any revisit to Florence.

This was our first introduction to Opera and what a better place than Italy for our first time. Thoroughly enjoyable evening. The start of the evening was in a small restaurant which was quite hard to find. I asked the owner if this was the right place for Viator dinner and concert and he kept saying, Caf tour, yes, sit! Other people who arrived were also confused. The meal was very nice and consisted of pasta in a Bolognese sauce, pork with chips and tiramisu, and a carafe of red wine. A short walk to the church and then the show begins. The Compere/Pianist was entertaining and very good. And what voices the couple had as they sang duets and arias to familiar songs. We sat mesmerised until the end! It was an amazing experience. I will be visiting Florence again and will definitely be revisiting this tour.

This tour is fantastic! I highly recommend it. The concert is in a small, beautiful Anglican Church. The performers-pianist, tenor, soprano-are true professionals. The tour group enjoyed front row seating. Just terrific! Dinner was okay, nothing special. The restaurant is very near the church. Don't miss this concert.

The guide was informed as well as entertaining. Because the group was all English speaking it went well. There was give and take, questions and answers with the guide and much more was learned. It is an inefficient use of a little time to have to hear two versions of the same remarks. The meal was very good but it was very warm in what we were told was a former wine cellar. The proprietor appeared to have a A/C system but did not have it on. Loved the arias performance. The trio moved effortlessly through so many lovely numbers with beautiful voices and convincing dramatics.
