The tour was excellent in every way right from the hotel pickup to the finish at the train station. Mount fuji was the highlite of the tour and we managed to reach the fourth level to make the view all the more spectacular. The guides provided great commentary and many funny stories to make it more interesting.

There is no substitute for seeing Mt Fuji in person. The photos and pictures of this incredible icon of Japan come nowhere close to seeing this magnificent mountain in person. After seeing Mt Fuji, you will understand why the Japanese people revere this mountain. Until this tour, I hadn't realised how accessible Mt Fuji was from Tokyo in one day. I also hadn't realised that the lakes around Fujiyama had so much to offer. I had limited time and could only spare a day but managed to see an incredible amount in a short time. Also, the tour guide provided a fantastic description of Japanese culture on this trip between the sights. Here's a few tips when you're deciding whether or not to do this trip. First, the visibility of Mt Fuji is best in winter and not so good in summer, with a pretty good chance of seeing it in spring and autumn. Remember, no one can control the weather! I was really lucky as I got the most breathaking views of probably one of the best things I have ever seen in my life. However, if I was touring this area again, I think I would increase my chances of seeing Mt Fuji by taking one of the two or three day tours offered on this website instead. (I did four tours in Japan from Viator within two weeks and all, without exception, were excellent). Also, there is so much to see and do in ths area, if I had more time, I would have loved to see these things. However, if you were like me and had only had one day, I would highly recommend this tour as you get to see so much of the countryside as well as Japan's much loved icon.

The tour was great, usually i tend to dismiss tours as i "couldve done this myself", but on this occasion i am glad to be wrong. The places that our tour guide took us and the things i got to see i was absolutely breath taking at times.

I am very glad i took this tour and would use them again.

I had a great experience from start to finish on the day of this tour on Monday,08 April 2013 !!

The Japanese guide,Yuko, had excellent knowledge of the history and geography of Japan in general and Mt.Fuji plus the surrounding areas in particular.

She was able to communicate this effectively in English and with a geat sense of humour.

If possible, please pass on my personal thanks to her for her patience in explaining the best way for me to get back to my hotel in Hachioji all the way from Shinjuku after what had been an exciting but tiring day.

Plus the weather was beautiful with not a cloud in the sky just as in your brochure !!

Kind regards from S.SHARMA (Mr) -- single traveller.

Really Good day. Great tour guide who was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately due to the weather, we only got as high as the fourth station and the view wasn't great. However the tour guide kept was apologetic (although she couldn't do anything) and made alternative plans when we couldn't go on the cable car either. I learnt a lot about Japan, got to see some great scenery and had a quick, but unforgettable trip on the bullet train.

Tour guide was very good, excellent at organising everyone to get them to the meeting points. Very knowledgeable and was able to use humour throughout the trip.

The bus from our hotel (Grand Prince New Takanawa) to meeting point (Hamamastcho Station) was easy and smoothly operated.

Transfers to Mount Fuji was comfortable on a nice bus.

The first stop was where lunch was available. We didn't chose to eat the Japanese meal available and went for the alacarte on offer, in all honesty it was not worth the money. But it wasn't awful or anything.

We then went onto Mt Fuji and due to the snow we could only get to phase four, the views were beautiful and it was a really nice experience being above the clouds.

We then went on from there to ride the boat on lake ashi which was really nice and offered lovely views of the volcanoe.

Once we were off the boat we went up the cable car to the top, which on a nice day would of been lovely but because of the fog we couldn't see further than 10m or so in front of us.

Once we had finished there we got back onto the bus and headed for the Shinkansen. Needless to say this was an amazing experience which got us back to our closest station Shinigawa in under 30 or so minutes.

All in all a fantastic trip, run very well and well worth the money.
