We took the Grand Canyon South Rim Bus Tour with Helicopter Option.
It was the most exhilarating experience ever. I would strongly recommend the helicopter option, as you really do see far more of the Canyon than just going to the south rim. A very long day in the bus but very much worth every cent.
Thumbs up!!!!! One of the best experiences ever! Very friendly and accommodating guide, very comfortable ride! It was indeed great! Memorable adventure!Reviewed by: Ellaine, June 2013
A long day (the south rim is much further than the West rim tour) but so worth the trip, as once you get to the Canyon the views are amazing! On the way to the Canyon, there's a quick stop at Hoover Dam, so get your camera ready. If you purchase the helicopter experience, you'll be dropped off first, while the rest of the bus head to the National Geographic Centre. Some people selected the Pink Jeep experience (small group tours of the Canyon), or select the IMAX movie (30 min). Skip the IMAX movie if you want more time to walk around the National Geographic Centre or to relax and enjoy your lunch. (You get a lunch voucher). There will always be a lot of other bus tours, so be prepared to take a lot of quick shots then move on to the next viewing platform. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, it's warm but can get cold on the bus ride back to Las Vegas. Enjoy this amazing natural wonder!Reviewed by: Anita E, May 2013
We thoroughly enjoyed the trip to the South Rim. It was a long day but Geoff, the driver and tour guide was excellent and it didn't feel like such a long way. He was full of information and had a great sense of humour. The tour office was efficient and the process went smoothly to get us all on the appropriate bus. The coffee was good too! The Imax movie was great (hang on to your seats!) and the Grand Canyon spectacular. The double decker bus was also comfortable. The only negative was the passengers who didn't adhere to the time frames and held us up, which meant our stops had to be shorter to make up time. Overall we had a relaxing and pleasant day with good memories and lots of photos. Our first time in the US and everyone was very helpful and friendly.Reviewed by: Glenda L, May 2013
This was a very good trip and cheaper than many other similar ones. We rang the local tour operator upon our arrival in Vegas to arrange the pick up time from our hotel. No issues, trip ran smoothly.
Long day but one of the 'must do's' whilst visiting Vegas. Note to self, if you are just visiting at the top of the Canyon as we did with this trip, take warm clothing! We visited in April and it was cold at the top with a little but of snow which had fallen the day before! Thouroughly enjoyable trip :)
Awsome, breathtaking a bit long but worth a million.Reviewed by: Sweta A, April 2013
It was a very great experience.Reviewed by: Hue H, April 2013
It was a long day, but the bus was very comfortable and the driver is very funny, the only down side was that lunch was not as anticipated. still, worth the money. will highly recommend itReviewed by: Jing X, April 2013
I did the tour with the heli trip. The highlights of the tour were the view of Hoover dam from the bus and the view of the grand canyon from the helicopter. I also did the hiking at the grandcanyon trip, but the views were not as exciting as the heli trip. The best part in hiking was the Geo museum at grand canyon. They have the natural history of grand canyon. The tour operators were very professional. The schedules, fun and the mood was perfectly maintained. Kudos to them!!Reviewed by: Subhash K, April 2013
Amazing views, great tour guide! It´s a long drive but definetly worthy!Reviewed by: Tainah D, April 2013
