Great trip! Smooth flight, lots to see and learn. Very knowledgable and professional pilot made this excursion a highlight of our first trip to Hawaii. I highly recommend Paradise Helicopters!Reviewed by: Michael K, March 2013
I'm SOOOOO glad I took this tour...ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!
The Big Island is SOOO BIG and has something to offer EVERYONE! And, some of the island's most beautiful areas can only be experienced from above!
I only had 2-days to spend on the Big Island, so I decided to take this tour immediately upon arriving. I figured that based upon what I found interesting on the tour, I could determine where I'd like to spend the remainder of my time. This was a GREAT way to make the most of my time.
I'd HIGHLY recommend this tour...HIGHLY!Reviewed by: Thurman, August 2012
Got to see flowing Lava! Awaesome! Paradise Helicopters is great!!Reviewed by: Steven S, USA, August 2012
Excellent from pickup at hotel to organisation of taxi on departure the staff were friendly and competent. The trip itself was spectacular and made even better by the extremely competent pilot who was both informative about the places seen and considerate of the passengers by preparing them in advance for maneuvers made by the helicoptor.Reviewed by: Bernadette M, January 2012
It was an adventure worth a lifetime thanks a millionReviewed by: Daniel U, November 2011
This was a fun flight with amazing views. Seeing an active volcano from the air is incredible though the most beautiful parts were the lush sea cliffs and Waipio Valley. With current volcanic activity, this is the best way to see actual lava, especially going into the ocean. Alternative is to take a boat and the seas are apparently pretty choppy there though we didn’t take the boat. Note that 2 seats in the helicopter are rear facing so if you are prone to air sickness you may want to request not having those seats. I sat up front and had a great view but my fiance sat in a rear facing seat and didn’t feel terrific though she still enjoyed the views. 2 hours is a bit long all in one go. In hindsight I’d recommend paying a little more and doing the version that includes a stop midway at a secluded waterfall. Getting out to stretch would have been a nice break.Reviewed by: Gavin T, April 2013
This helicopter tour is one of two ways to watch lava spew from active volcanoes and crash into the southeastern shore of the Big Island, creating magnificent plumes of white smoke. Truly an amazing view. This comprehensive aerial tour of the Big Island gives you the lay of the land while hovering over waterfalls, valleys, shorelines and (of course) Volcanoes National Park for plenty of picture-taking opportunities. This is a private tour that maxes out at 6 passengers, plus a pilot who points out the significant sites as he cruises along - sometimes as low as 1,500 feet. Tip: This is a two-hour long helicopter ride so if you prone to air-sickness, make sure to be prepared with medication before hand!Reviewed by: Anonymous, April 2013
The pilot did a great job but you could not understand much of what he said. I asked for a good seat to take many pictures but had to fly backward and try to take pictures through a small window bu twisting sideways. Not easy! Good thing that I did not have to pay extra for that seat! I was unhappy!Reviewed by: Bill B, February 2013
We had a fantastic 2-hr Big Island helicopter trip from Kona. My husband, my parents and I all enjoyed seeing the spectacular scenery of the volcanoes, waterfalls and coastline from the air. My mum wanted to come to Hawaii just to spend time looking at volcanoes and the best view of them was from the air.
Our safety was very important for the crew.
All passengers got the opportunity to take photographs and our pilot was well informed and very generous with his time and our questions.
I would recommend this trip unreservedly to anybody wanting a complete overview of the Big Island of Hawaii - helicopter is the best way to see all there is to see!
Thanks for a great trip (Viator and Paradise Helicopters).
All aspects of the tour were professional and put us at ease. We had great opportunities to take photos from different angles, and LARVA ROCKS!!!Reviewed by: Susanne S, September 2011
