Excellent tour and guide. Booked the 8am small group and got there just early enough to grab a quick pastry at the meeting point (surprisingly good breakfast there). After a short introduction and we crossed to street to enter the museum, the public line was already wayyyyy backed up. By the time we left, the line was averaging about 3 hours.
Tour guide was extremely knowledgable and helped us get through the crowds. He also sat us down in a quiet area before the Sistine Chapel so that we could be ready for what we were getting ready to see. It was really helpful especially given the time constraint of 15 minutes that are placed on the Chapel's visitors. The tour covered all we had wanted to see and four hours was enough time to get into some details without being too long.
The place is pretty overwhelming with so many details that you would miss without a knowledgable guide. It was also much less stressful knowing that we had secured a way into the museum long before we arrived in Rome.
Overall, the guide was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and good at making you feel comfortable amongst the throngs of people that were walking about. You could tell that he had good experience and knew what to draw our attention to. Definitely much better than trying to follow a guidebook or some wikipedia print outs!Reviewed by: Kevin M, April 2014
Our tour guide was exceptional and made this tour an extremely informative, fun and worthwhile experience. We learnt a lot, as well as being so glad to be guided around the huge numbers of people who were in the Vatican Museums that morning.
I thought that it was good value for money and am very glad that I had it recommended to me.Reviewed by: Ms D J Turner T, April 2014

The front of the line access made this tour so convenient, but our guide made it truly memorable. She was extremely knowledgeable, but even more important to us was that she was fun and engaging. Couldn't imagine trying to see the Vatican for the first time without a tour like this....and we don't usually take tours.Reviewed by: Derek H, April 2014
