Illuminations Evening Tour
Learn about Madrid's history from your local guide as you pass through the city's tree-lined boulevards, with their animated cafes and brilliantly illuminated monuments and squares.
See the amazing Templo de Debod, a 4th-century-BC Egyptian temple that was saved from the rising waters of Lake Nasser and sent block by block to Spain in 1970.
Wander through the famous Plaza de España, where you will see a statue of Spanish writer Cervantes. At the writer's feet is a bronze of his most well-known characters, Don Quijote and Sancho Panza.
Finally, return to the heart of Madrid, Plaza Mayor, built in typical Herrerian style. Formerly a center for royal festivities and bullfighting, the square was burnt to the ground in 1790 but was subsequently resurrected. Today the square is lined with shops and alfresco cafes, where you can refuel your energy with a cup of coffee (own expense) during some free time to get ready for the rest of your night.
During the summer, when the sun sets later, part of your tour may take place before the sun goes down. You’ll watch Madrid sparkle as day turns to night.
Flamenco Show at Florida Park
Flamenco is a Spanish tradition, combining song with an impassioned style of dance that originated in Spain's Andalusia region. Experience this classic form of Spanish culture at Florida Park, in Madrid's Parque del Buen Retiro.
Florida Park has seen many changes since its construction in the 19th century. When the park was handed over to the people of Madrid, it was converted to a chapel. Then, in the early 20th century, it became a spa resort, and today the venue is a nightclub, specializing in Spanish ballet and flamenco.
You have three dining/drink options while you enjoy the show at Florida Park: one complimentary drink, a traditional tapas meal or a three-course dinner (see the Itinerary section below for a sample menu).
