This was definately one of the highlights of our 3 week trip to Europe! Pete's enthusiasm for his travellers and his knowlegde of Versailles was fantastic! He made the day so much fun! This is the only way to see Versailles, by bicycle around the grounds and the 13 mile lake, picnic at a beautiful site all preceeded by an hour at the market to buy your cheeses, baguettes, salads, salamis, wine and patisseries. What a wonderful adventure and so out of the ordinary. Go on this trip! You'll be glad you did!

absolutely fabulous our guide Pete was terrific, very knowledgeable had a great day at the market knew where to shop the weather was perfect had a great picnic by the lake would highly reccommend this tour to everyone, It was tops, thanks Helen

Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Versailles because doing it on foot is unthinkable! We were also lucky to have hit Culture Day many areas were open and free: Trianon feat. an art exhibit, Marie Antoinette's hamlet/farm. The biking is not as strenuous as the Paris night bike tour. The best part is picking out food at the morning market and picnicking along the canal. Wished I'd gotten more grapes at the market! Remember to bring napkins!! Our guide Stu gave a very engaging history of the many Louis to the end of Napoleonic era and a lot was to be learned. It was unfortunate the fountains had turned off by the time I reached it--we also only had 1.5 hours to tour the actual palace and with so many ppl coming during Culture Day, I shuffled quickly through the rooms and missed the famous Napoleon portrait!

Fantastic experience even for someone not so young or fit. Riding through Paris to the train. Riding to the fresh produce market to choose and purchase our lunch, amazing experience. Sitting on the edge of the lake having lunch looking back at Versailles almost took my breath away. All organised so well.

Out trip to Versailles was great! We loved getting our lunch at the market and eating it on the grounds of Versailles. Our guide was knowledgeable and most accommodating. We never would have been able to so much if we hadn't been on the bikes!

Tour was great - guide very knowledgeable and great visiting markets first to buy items for lunch. Only downside was by the time we got into the palace too tired to give it the attention it deserved.
