My husband and I took this tour during our honeymoon stop in Barcelona! It was well worth it to see the views of Monserrat and get out of the city for a few hours, we even got a siesta in on the ride back! Our tour guide was very helpful in explaining the history behind Monterrat as well as that of Barcelona! The views are a must on your trip!

This trip was SO worth our time. There are many trails to hike, and we (luckily) happened to choose one that took about an hour of our time and wasn't too strenuous (of course, that's relative). The paths are made of stone so it's not a good place to hike with a stroller. Better to put the baby in a harness on your back. The vistas are just gorgeous. We opted for the cable car option, which was fun. There are funiculars at the top that take you even higher, if you want to go. We did not choose to do that, and noticed that not very many people did. Consequently, if you want to do that, no lines. We were able to hear the children's choir, which was fun -- if only to say we heard it. They sing two. The cathedral was extremely crowded (standing room only). We stood at the back where we were able to hear well, take some photos, and we left before the end of the 2nd hymn -- thus allowing us to hit the bathrooms before the rest of the crowd came tumbling out. The gift shop is large and extensive. All in all, a good use of our time.

You know I keep saying the same thing it seems with all these tours, fantastic scenery and mountains that we have never seen before. The guide was very informative and we had ample time at Montserrat to take pictures and walk around. We loved this place and the tour allowed you to see it in a way that left you very impressed and informed with the area. Great tour all around.

Loved it; only thing is I would've preferred more time to look around. I wasn't able to bring back as much cheese as I would've liked but the samples were amazing. The views are spectacular

Tour group was much smaller than expected (2 couples) allowing the guide to provide individual responses to questions. Ample time allotted for all sights including 15 minute line for Black Madonna. Guide was knowledgeable and responsive, bus driver professional, and overall trip was well worth cost.

The journey to Montserrat was very scenic and saw a different part of Spain, coming out from Barcelona. The Basilica is magnificent and definitely worth the visit even if you're not a believer. We also managed to hear the Montserrat boys choir sing. Their gentle voices with the echoes in the basilica were simply divine. There is also time to take the funicular up to the mountain to have a even more splendid view of the mountains and valleys. However, you can only choose to either take the funicular or to queue to adore the Black Madonna. Even then, just to see the mountains in Montserrat is already worth it. A nice respite from the buzzing Barcelona city as you indulge a little in nature and its surroundings. Will definitely be going to Montserrat again when I go back to Barcelona next time! Muchas gracias for a nice morning trip!

The guide, Marc, was one of the best I have ever experienced. His knowledge was outstanding and his language skills fantastic. Montserrat is a site not to be missed. My only complaint was the number and rudeness of tourists waiting in line to view the Black Virgin.
