We were very lucky with the weather, clam sea and clear blue sky.
The booking-in, boarding process worked well and the staff were helpful and friendly.
The entrance into the south island via Queen Charlotte Sound offers stunning views and weather permitting a seat outside on the upper deck is a must.

It was a wonderful experience and I can't fault anything, and if the opportunity ever comes my way again I would love to repeat this trip. We'll polished and efficient. Alida Prinsloo South Africa

The trip was brilliant on the Interislander -as usual. What makes it is the spectacular scenery leaving the Wellington area and heading into Picton. The ferry is well equipped, you couldn't ask for anything else!

A leisurely cruise seeing the coastlines of both islands up close. Very comfortable with good on-board facilities. The only bad point was that all the freshly baked scones had been sold when we went to the cafe. However, the scrambled eggs were perfect.

We took the ferry as part of a day trip to the South Island to go wine tasting, and it was a gorgeous trip. The ferry itself is nice, with movies, food, etc to pass the time comfortably, but the best part of the journey is the beautiful scenery as you travel through the sound. There were plenty of outside and window seats to have a drink and enjoy the view, and it was a very relaxing trip.

Even although the weather was not very good, the scenery is breathtaking.
The ferry was very busy but remained clean, tidy and pleasant
