This was fantastic hotel absolutely fabulous second castle caused me some problems as the climb was so long and steep and I have a bad back and two injured knees but well worth the pain and effort when I eventually reached the top really recommend staying overnight to be able to see the third castle

No complaints at all. Highly recommended. We had a great time. It was the highlight of our six week travels through Europe. We appreciated the constant reminder emails from Viator as this reassured us that our booking was confirmed. Staff from the bus company and Hotel Mueller were excellent. Town was quite and relaxing - if you are looking for night life this is not the place for you! Visitors shoud do the tour of Hohenschwangau castle to get an overview of the history as tours of Linderhop and Nueschwanstein are very basic and crowded. Understandably, no photos are allowed in the castles but we felt that they could at least allow access to one or two external facing windows so that people can photograph the views from the castles. Visitors must take a photo from the bridge (worth the extra walk) when visiting Nueschwanstein as this castle currently has scaffolding on its other sides. We recommend that visitors take the bus or horse and cart to castle Nueschwanstein unless they have lots of time and are very fit. We travelled on a bus with day trippers to the castle and many expressed disappointment that they did not know that staying overnight was an option! We would not do it any other way.

Would have liked more time at Linderhof Palace, but otherwise the tour was good, with plenty of time at Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. The hotel was amazing, and there is plenty to do in your free time.

Very interesting, informative, and a great Hotel to stay at for the one night at the base of the best of the three castles.

The tour was ran very well-all of the guides were well informed and entertaining. The overnight stay was well worth it since we did not have to hurry and could enjoy the castles and the area at our leisure.

There was really no person to "take" you to places but they left us with the right hands along the route. The Muller Hotel was nice.

The hotel was fantastic. We got a suite with a view of Neuschwanstein. The bad side is that the tour operator never contacted us at the start of the tour. Someone finally told us that the supplier had subcontracted our package to another company. No one on that company's bus was doing the overnight tour, so we were kind of going along blindly. We did not know our schedule until we got to the hotel after Linderhof and Neuschwanstein the first day. It would have been nice if someone had contacted us at the beginning so that we knew what was going on. Overall, the hotel was very nice, and it was absolutely worth staying overnight to have a chance to enjoy swimming and boating in the Alpsee with the castles and the Alps around us.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

The places low on my scale are Hohenschwangau and Linderhof. Hohenshwangau was a stocking-filler, nothing to recommend it unless you've got a fetish for tawdry Christmas baubles and gnomes-in-the-back-garden kind of thing. Neuschwanstein felt outlandishly Disneyland. But the views along the walk to the castle were worth it. A lot of time was wasted at this and other sites, waiting around for out turn to enter the "attractions". The reception at the hotel had problems finding our name on the reservation register, and to make matters worse, we were not given a voucher for the hotel as we boarded the bus at Munich. In the end, we decided it was more convenient to forgo the night even though the room was prepaid because we could not be sure if we could find another coach the following day to bring us back to Munich. Never again!
