The tour was great starting with our driver and tour guide Serge such a lovely man. Versailles is amazing and a must do day trip from Paris.Reviewed by: RENATE R, December 2013
Fred our driver had a tremendous sense of humor and was quite enjoyable. We learned a lot about the history of Versaille and what we would see when we got there. He was punctual and happy to answer any questions we had. The only way to see Versaille.Reviewed by: stephe, December 2013
Great tour!Reviewed by: Evangelina S M, December 2013
Basically this is a self tour that you pay the guide to tell you a bit about the grounds and with entrance to the palace. I'd recommend this for people who want a high level review of Versailles without much depth and are willing to walk away thinking the cost of a taxi might have been more. For what our guide did she was very good and very nice....bottom line the cost is not worth it.Reviewed by: Markie, December 2013
A little disappointing in view of the cost paid. I anticipated a small guided tour through the palace itself. Instead our group was dropped off at the gate and, although tickets were provided, we then had to make our own way through the palace (free audio guide available and which I utilised. However, as there were a lot of tourists having their own private tours, accessing rooms in the short amount of time we had available and making full use of the audio was not possible). We then met with the guide outside the palace after about 1 hour for a brief overview of the gardens. After this, we had approximately 15 minutes free time before needing to be back at the gate for departure. Our guide also mentioned that, in the height of summer, she wouldn't be able to guarantee that we could bypass the queues for the palace. I think that paying what I consider a premium price would guarantee a personalised tour and no queues. That said, if you really want to see Versailles in all its glory, you really need a whole day as the gardens are enormous. Going at the height of summer isn't necessary although you would probably get the full effect. However, the hibernation period Versailles undergoes in October is still worth a visit.Reviewed by: Simone C, December 2013
