This workshop takes advantage the historical Madison Square Park, which offers the best ground level view of the Flat Iron and Metropolitan Life buildings.
Museum Inside Out:
This unique tour takes place inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art (admission included). Although there will be famous artwork to photograph, this photo tour concentrates on the use of light. The Met features many would-be outdoor spaces that are now encapsulated inside the building, like the American Courtyard and the European Sculpture Court. These spaces are beautifully lit by huge skylights, offering a unique opportunity to photograph several diverse architectural elements all in one setting. This tour has seasonal availability from October to May.
NYC After Dark:
Join a nighttime tour in Times Square to focus on taking photos in low light. Learn how flash and long exposure work, and take memorable photos that capture the unique signs, lights and billboards of Times Square. This tour is for advanced photographers, and participants must provide their own tripods.
NYC the Upshot!:
On the Upshot photo tour, focus on taking pictures from ground level of some of the tallest buildings in NYC. Visit St Patrick’s Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Plaza. Toward the end of your tour, take a ride up 70 stories to the Top of the Rock, which offers the best above-ground views of both the Empire State Building and Central Park.
Highline Elevated Park:
Located in the gritty Meat Packing District the Highline is a true example of the Urban Jungle mixing the modern, industrial city life with trees and foliage reminiscent of grassy hillsides. The Highline offers some of the best views of the Hudson River and the iconic NYC skyline. On this tour you'll learn both portrait and location photography.
