We loved seeing all the sites from the bus and river cruise and being able to walk by the crowds waiting in line for the Eiffel Tower and walk right into the elevator to lunch on the first floor. Just awesome. Recommend to anyone wanting to see everything on a short trip.Reviewed by: Thomas M, January 2014
Very nice view of the major highlights of Paris, very good descriptions and historical references. The bus was very comfortable and took routes so that everyone got good views of the Paris landmarks. The bot ride on the Seine was superb. We had a great day with sunshine, not too cold even though it was January. The boat was also very comfort a bike. The photographer took excellent picture. Our guide to the Eiffel Tower was wonderful, she got us through the line and through the elevators. The view from the restaurant at the Eiffel Tower was wonderful. The linchpin was disappointing -food in plastic containers, not warm, not what one would expect in Paris. Would have preferred a better menu, 3 courses instead of 2, even if it added cost to the tour. Would also have preferred to have been brought back to the departure location. It was not easy getting transportation back to our hotel.Reviewed by: Wyndolyn B, USA, January 2014
We were surprised to learn just a couple of days before our trip on January 1st that we had to reschedule for a later date on January 2nd. We did this satisfactorily although the office was located in Australia. The concierge at our hotel kindly made the call "overseas" for us.
The bus and bus team (driver and on-board guide were excellent.
The Eiffel tower guide, Jean Paul was excellent, so kind and understanding for all the traveler's needs, concerns and questions. The two course lunch at the tower restaurant was nice and the service was excellent.
The cruise was excellent, and the captain and the attendants were very capable and helpful. The walk from the tower to the dock, including the stairs were moderately difficult as we are a bit challenged. Give yourself 20-30 minutes to cover the distance.
The audio tour requires you to use the provided headphones to listen to the tour. We had passed several stops on the trip while I was trying to get the headphones to work before I had to go down to the main deck of the bus to get new headphones. I was not the only one who had to exchange headphones because of malfunction. If the guide had had us test them before the tour began I wouldn't have missed part of the tour nor had to climb down the steps while the bus was moving. The river cruise was on a boat on which at least 1/3 of the seats were broken. The rest were very rickety. The tour portion of the river cruise was very informative and enjoyable. The tour guide who greeted us at the end of the river cruise was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our Eiffel Tower lunch and the climb to the top since we were the only ones on the stairs. We took the guide's advice and used the stairs to climb to the second floor. The views were astounding. Since the weather was questionable and the time of year (second week in January) when we visited, the tower was very empty. We could walk around and take pictures of the view unimpeded. The line to take the elevator down the tower was very short (we opted not to walk down the steps.) we also had some very nice photos taken of us both on the boat and in the restaurant. They were expensive but so nice, I splurged in order to get a picture of us together. My main criticism of the trip is the malfunctioning audio tour and the antiquated boat. For those reasons, I would not recommend spending the money (this tour is expensive) to take this tour.Reviewed by: Karen A, January 2014
Very soon after booking we realised that the time we had booked our tour wasn't going to work. I made inquiries to change via the email address provided and was told that no changes were possible. A French friend rang on my behalf and presto, the change was made. My confirmation email also did not reflect the change but when we turned up the change had been made - very confusing!
The bus tour was a waste of time. The beat the que at the Eifel tower was worth while but the lunch was a joke. In an almost empty restaurant we had the worst possible table and the food was basically airline food! We were not guided to the boat tour. The guide pointed from the Eifel Tower to where we should go and thAt was it. Extremely expensive for what we got. I wouldn't recommend the tour.Reviewed by: Melinda L R, January 2014
