You'll stop here to view Doubtful Sound far below. Your journey continues to Deep Cove where you'll board a spacious catamaran for a three-hour Doubful Sound Wilderness Cruise that takes in the most dramatic scenery of Doubtful Sound. The skipper will provide detailed commentary and point out highlights.
Ten times larger than Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound is an unspoiled wilderness of many moods, one minute clear, blue and sun drenched, the next mysterious and mist shrouded. A wild place of dense rainforest, rugged peaks, cascading waterfalls and deep still waters quiet, serene and green.
Keep a look out for wildlife as bottlenose dolphins frequently come alongside the vessel, fur seals bask on the rocks around the fiord and rare penguins can at times be observed.*** Important note for travel effective from 01 - 30 June 2013: Please be advised that due to operational vessel maintenance, changes have been made to the Doubtful Sound Wildness Cruises. This is now a 3 hour Cruise exploring the Inner Fiord and all the arms of Doubtful Sound, (including Power Station visit) and will not reach the Tasman sea. It is a leisurely three hour cruise, with an on board Nature Guide explaining the history of the area, information about the flora and fauna and also pointing out locations of interest.
The rate and time schedule remain the same and you will enjoy an exceptional experience in Doubtful Sound. ***

A fabulous trip with excellent staff that showed what New Zealand is all about. This will be a highlight of my trip.

This was an excellent experience. We travelled from Te Anau and all arrangements with the tour company were spot on! It really was well organised, with the actual cruise on Doubtful Sound full of interesting information and side attractions. We'd previously visited Milford Sound --this was better!
