Excellent day trip if a little bit tiring (4 hours from Hanoi) but time spent on the boat more than made up for the long journey.Reviewed by: colly2467, United Kingdom, March 2014
Very good trip to do if you do not have much time to spend in Halong Bay. Guide was very informative and friendly and the seafood lunch was very tasty.Reviewed by: Jackie J, January 2014
Very good guide. It's a long day but worth it - the views are stunning. The boats are a bit old and the bay is a little crowded but we didn't mind as the trip as a whole was very good. I'd recommend it.Reviewed by: Justin R, February 2014
The Halong Bay portion of the trip gets a five star rating. It was much better that my wife and I expected... The boat was excellent, the food was great and plentiful and the crew were capable and friendly. Overall it was a wonderful experience.
The tour guide and driver were a pleasure to spend the day with.
The only downside was the travel time and the condition of the roads, but all things considered, it is excellent value for money and a MUST SEE experience
I new this was a full day tour; but was surprised that it was over 3 hours each way from the Old Quarter. Scenery on the way was interesting; rice planting was going on, so could watch the various steps of planting really along most of the drive.
The bay/islands are very impressive, clearly a good take. Unfortunately they served lunch inside the barge just as we were arriving at some of the most interesting sites; so lunch remained mostly uneaten as we were enjoying the views and taking pictures. I knew that we would be seeing some caves, but I didn't expect CAVES ! It took about an hour to walk thru the caves and take pictures of the stalagtites and stalagmites as well as other limestone formations. Tour is recommended, just be aware of the long ride (van was comfortable) and be prepared to skip the lunch.Reviewed by: Dean R, February 2014
