This was a great trip. A long day (about 8 of the 12 hours spent traveling) but worth it if you don't want to stay overnight. Although the day was cloudy, the closer we got to the rocky formations, the clearer they were so I was able to get some good photos. Lunch was sufficient and the caves were worth seeing. It was a shame that the merchandise at the handicrafts centre was so expensive. A purse I bought around the corner of the hotel was 5 times more expensive at the centre. Our guide San was terrific and had excellent English.Reviewed by: Irene B, April 2014

Loved Halong Bay and the cruise. Wonderful adventure and a nice group of people. The van ride to and from the bay was long and the van not that comfortable for an 8 hour round trip.Reviewed by: Peggy H, March 2014
Although the journey from Hanoi to Halong Bay was incredibly long, which we were not expecting, the trip was worthwhile. The boat journey was comfortable and the staff very attentive. Our tour guide spoke excellent English and provided us with interesting information around the history of Vietnam and the sights we passed along the way. Halong Bay itself is stunning. You cannot visit North Vietnam and not see Halong Bay. Definitely a worthwhile trip.Reviewed by: Hulya M, March 2014
