It was really great!Reviewed by: Sue Jean C, March 2014
Overall it was great. The driver's commentary was very interesting and made the drive to wine country go much faster. Our first stop was Nicholson Ranch which was beautiful but I was not very impressed with the wine. And we only sampled three wines - two of which were Chardonnays and tasted very similar. I think this is a newer vineyard so I was guessing maybe they don't produce much yet - but it was never explained. Our next stop was Madonna Estates which was not as pretty a setting but the wine was excellent! And we sampled about 10 different wines. We ended up buying quite a few bottles at this stop. Then we were dropped off in Yountville for lunch. We found a cute little pizza/pasta restaurant at the end of town called Redd Wood and managed to beat the crowds. Lunch was delicious and not too expensive considering the area. Our final stop on the wine tour was Sutter Home. Nothing too exciting here since this is a pretty commercialized wine. We were told we were given a wine they don't sell in the stores but the others were their normal wines you can get anywhere. The winery itself was just basically a giant gift shop - nothing quaint or picturesque here. It was convenient that there were food exhibitions that day so there were treats all around the gift shop there to sample. I only wished we could have visited another local hidden gem for our last stop.Reviewed by: Laurie M, February 2014
Our tour guide was absolutely awesome. From the moment we got on the bus till we got on home he narrated. Very knowledgeable. Winery's were great, great tastings.Reviewed by: tarny99, February 2014
The tour was lots of fun and Ephram was a lovely man. However, Wifi was not on the bus which we needed, so that was a disappointment. As well, better wineries (at least one) would have improved the tour.Reviewed by: Patricia S, February 2014
This was suposed to be a winery visit. I've been to winery tours in europe. They show the winery, how the wine is made, walk throug the fields, beautiful landscapes, etc. This tour is just 'wine tasting'. This should be properly warned. They just take us to 3 houses, by the road, where we enter in a room with a bar, where they serve 1/2 inches of some wines of theirs and afterwards we have "the chance" to buy the wines, as we are also inside their shop. Totally waste of time.Reviewed by: Helena, February 2014
