My wife and I Celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary in San Francisco. This tour was one of the Highlights of our trip. The driver/ tour guide (Wolfgang) was Great!! This is the way to go, enjoyed the historic information and beautiful scenery. We would definitely recommend this Wine Tour.Reviewed by: Richard S, April 2014
We were picked up promptly at 8am from our hotel.Had a lovely day out wine tasting in Sonoma and Nappa Valley. First stop was Nicholson winery, 3 tastings. wine was ok, not that exciting, more trying to sign you up to their wine club. Second stop was Madonna winery. This was brilliant, great talk from Mike, explained process and differences between grapes and wines. Had a tour of the cellar and then straight into the bar. Demonstrated how to open wine
and how to taste it. Very welcoming and lots of wine flowing, very generous. This place had a great gift shop. Then off to Youtville for a lunch stop. Final stop was Sutter Winery, sampled 4 wines (White Zinfandel was delicious) bought some wine to take back to hotel. Then back to our hotel. Driver was friendly and full of interesting facts about the areas we visited. A very chilled out day. Loved it.
Enjoyed the trip as a whole. The wineries we went to were stunning. Our coach driver was very funny and knowledgeable and kept us entertained throughout the journey. Found the actual your quite rushed and the people at some of the vineyards were not very friendly. I felt like they just wanted us in and out. At madonna vineyards the person giving the tour was quite rude and it was more a sales opportunity for him than a wine education. The stop at Yountville was great, plenty of time to explore and lots of options for lunch or shopping.Reviewed by: Tracey G, April 2014
The wineries (and their wines) were good. Some gave a great explanation to their wines and tasting tips (Madonna especially).
The bus driver was giving a lot of information during the tour, so much that a number of people on the tour felt that it ended up being too fragmented and quick that we couldn't follow what he was saying unfortunately. Otherwise, the driver was good and friendlyReviewed by: Dr Alexander J S, April 2014
wineries were not the best.Reviewed by: Chinnamma M, April 2014
