This was one of the highlight of our trip. For first time visitors to Hawaii, this is a very good start to experiencing the nature Oahu offers. Our guide was excellent.

Due to their dry season, there was not much water coming over the falls.

This hike was definitely worth it especially if you're not the hiking type but want some guidance through the rainforest. Our tour guide did an amazing job at educating us on the history of Oahu and the rainforest in which Manoa is located. There is only one waterfall right at the end but it is a great spot for pictures. The trail is slippery but the tour company provides walking sticks to help along the way. The hike overall took us, a group of 8, about 30-45 minutes each way and it was well worth it. We've now done the hike once so we wouldn't do it again, but if it is your first time it is definitely worth doing.

The scenery is gorgeous and the guide gave a lot of interesting information. When I went on this hike there were two groups with two different guides. One of the guides encouraged people to use the walking sticks, which the company offered. All the members of that group used walking sticks. The guide, I was assigned to offered walking sticks, but did not encourage walking sticks. The hike itself was slippery and treacherous, as it had been raining. The hike would have been better for me if I had a walking stick. Instead, it was a frightening experience.

The picture is misleading. After a moderately challenging walk through the forest, we arrived at the falls. It was nothing more than a trinkle of water. It was very disappointing. The waterfall is roped off for safety which is good, but the waterfall looks nothing like the picture. If you want to walk through rainforest, enjoy, but do not expect excitement at the waterfall.
