Meet your guide and travel by subway to Aoyama Icchome Station. Walk under the lines of gingko trees as you make your way to Aoyama Cemetery, the final resting place of famous Japanese and foreigners. One of the cemetery's most famous graves is that of Hachikō, the dutiful dog whose statue adorns Shibuya Station. The cemetery is also renowned for its cherry blossoms which can be seen during the months of March and April. See the beautiful gardens surrounding Nogi Shrine and hear the story of loyal General Nogi Maresuke, who upon the death of the emperor took his own life.
Wander Hinokicho Park, once a garden attached to the residence of the wealthy former Daimyo Mori clan -- Hinoki means cypress tree and there are many on the grounds. Also see the pond fed by a bubbling stream, which is overlooked by a traditional Japanese teahouse.
Afterwards, explore Tokyo Midtown, a new concept in city living. The area was designed to bring together urban development with eco-friendly concepts to provide a unique inner-city experience. With lots of open spaces and lush green gardens, it’s truly an oasis in the city.
