On the Mornington Peninsula, a favorite getaway from Melbourne, you could be forgiven for thinking you were in Italy with the Mediterranean climate, olive trees and same boot-shaped geography! Only an hour from Melbourne, the peninsula offers everything from breathtaking beaches and historical national parks to vineyards and hot springs.

Travel to the tip of the peninsula to visit the seaside town of Portsea, with its famous colored bathing boxes, and Point Nepean, with its remarkable military history and spectacular views of Bass Strait.

Depending upon the season, you will have lunch at a winery or the hot springs, before resuming the itinerary to the Ashcombe Maze

Summer schedule: November to April
Enjoy a glass of wine and a delicious lunch at a local winery, and take a walk among the vines. Then visit Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm, where you can try your hand at picking strawberries (subject to weather conditions).

Winter schedule: May to October
Kick off your shoes and warm yourself up with a reflexology walk through the natural thermal hot springs. Known to provide therapeutic benefit and ease aches and pains, you will feel amazing. After, enjoy lunch at the restaurant.

Later, heighten your senses while you lose yourself at the Ashcombe Maze and Lavender Farm. This traditional hedge maze will have you twisting and turning as you try to navigate your way out. Then wander the sweet-smelling lavender gardens and see the rose hedges. Next, visit Murray’s Lookout to admire the spectacular views over the coast before returning to Melbourne.
