This was an incredible day! Our driver Ron was knowledgeable, friendly and went out of his way to show us some extra sights on the way home. Van was a little crowded, but we all ended up on the same raft so we were old friends by the time we got to the River. Be prepared to get completely soaked! I called the tour operator ahead of time, and spoke to Kathy, who was really helpful listing all the things to bring-sunglasses with holders, hat with brim, sunscreen, quick dry clothes, water shoes (or shoes you don't mind getting wet and muddy), a pullover, etc. I highly recommend checking in with them before you tour, as a reminder of what you'll need. We stopped for breakfast, and then had a quick stop at the tour dispatch area on the reservation where we boarded different vans to drive down to the river. That's a fun, bumpy ride, and takes another hour. Our van drive was also a river guide, so she was full of knowledge! Our river guide, Ted, was helpful, and told us so much about the Canyon that we didn't know. Sights were just breathtaking! Lunch was a sandwich and chips, nothing special, but incredible in the amazing setting! The rapids were fun, and we got drenched:) Beautiful ride after lunch, and they provided plenty of water to ease some of the heat. It was over 100 degrees the day we went, and the cool water kept it comfortable, but be sure to take your sunblock in your pocket to be able to reapply often, since the sun is very strong. Helicopter ride is short and fun, and I see some people complained about that, but the point of the tour is the rafting, not the helicopter hop up to the bus. Overall, an exhausting, but completely fun day! JUST GO!
