Mount Pilatus Summer Day Trip from Lucerne

Venture on a half day round trip from Lucerne to Mount Pilatus on this partially guided alpine summer tour. Escorted by your professional guide, take the aerial cable-car from Kriens 7000 feet (2132 meters) to the top of Mt.Pilatus. Enjoy unforgettable views over surrounding mountains and lakes with approximately an hour and a half at your leisure before descending by cogwheel train to Alpnachstad. At a gradient of 48% it's the world's steepest!

Thrill seekers can choose to ride Switzerland's longest toboggan run (4500 feet or 1.4km) before boarding the aerial cable car to Mt. Pilatus.  Available year round, embark on a scenic boat ride across the Lake of the Four Cantons before concluding your tour with a return to Lucerne.This tour operates between April and October however If you are traveling in late October,  the aerial cable car could be canceled due to poor or unsafe weather conditions. If this is the case, you will travel up and down Mt. Pilatus by cogwheel train. If traveling when boat is no longer in operation (approximately October 19),  you will return to Lucerne by train.

• The mountains of Switzerland offer unique exposure to the natural elements. Adverse weather can occur and enforce the closure of mountain transportation at short notice. Should a trip be canceled in advance of departure passengers can either claim a full refund, redeem their voucher for the same trip on an alternative day, or choose another trip of similar price and duration offered by the local operator. Should a trip be canceled after it has commenced passengers will either be re-routed to an alternative mountain or offered a Lucerne city tour and appropriate compensation
