Paris is known for the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and the Louvre, but in the City of Lights a darker reality lurks in the infamous catacombs of Paris. This exclusive Skip the Line tour every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday explores the extensive underground labyrinth that extends beneath the Paris city surface. Numbers are limited to a maximum of 20 people, ensuring you'll receive personalized attention from your knowledgeable guide. And by booking ahead, you won't waste any time waiting in line!

"Stop! Here is the empire of death." This is the sign that greets you as you enter the underground chambers of the Paris catacombs, eerie resting place of French citizens of the past. Descend deep into the tunnels of Paris and explore over a kilometer of catacombs decorated with human skulls and bones. Discover the extraordinary history of the catacombs and listen to the haunting stories and legends of these galleries of skeletons.

The Paris catacombs were originally limestone quarries, mined for the construction of Paris' most famous buildings and bridges. From the late 1700s the quarries were used to house bodies moved here from the overcrowded cemeteries of Paris. The bones of exhumed bodies were stacked neatly in various rooms creating kilometers of walls composed entirely of human remains.

Access to the catacombs is extremely limited and the long lines can last up to two hours. With privileged Skip the Line access you can avoid the long wait and enjoy a personalized visit with our limited group of just 20 guests per day. Join us and explore Paris as never before on this exclusive Skip the Line tour!
