On the short journey to this rustic site, you'll enjoy spectacular scenery - fields of teddy bear cholla, rare geologic formations, and an excellent photo opportunity down near the banks of Lake Mojave, the blue jewel of this isolated desert terrain.

On your professionally guided tour of the mine you'll envision the back-breaking work done by prospectors over a century ago as they chased gold veins deep into this rugged mountainside, and hear tales of yesteryear's gunfights and lawlessness that were the rule in this frontier territory. The mine is a constant 55 degrees year round - a great way to escape the summer heat!
