Itinerary:
Day 01: Edinburgh - InvernessTravel to lonely Rannoch Moor and into Glen Coe, Scotland's most famous glen and the scene of the terrible massacre in 1692. You will make a stop in the midst of this awe-inspiring scenery where you can enjoy an optional picnic lunch and a stroll in these dramatic surroundings.
From Fort William the striking scenery of the Great Glen unfolds ahead of you: first Loch Lochy, then Loch Oich and finally Loch Ness. Enjoy a drive along the banks of Loch Ness, stopping to visit Urquhart Castle with its panoramic lochside views. It is a popular spot with "Nessie" spotters, so keep a careful watch, just in case! Shortly after you will arrive in Inverness, home for tonight.
The stay in Inverness is unescorted.
Day 02: Inverness - Edinburgh
Depart Inverness through the gentle Spey Valley, then through stunning scenery as you drive over the Drumochter Pass. Keep a close watch for the deer that often come down to the roadside to graze. You will make a brief stop in the popular Victorian resort of Pitlochry, nestling on the banks of the River Tummel. From Perth drive homewards to journey's end.
