This is an easy trip from Berlin but involves a good deal of walking and some periods of boredom. Nonetheless, it is very interesting and worth taking. Bring food and water.

I had already been to Dachau, but Sachenhausen is worth seeing also. I would limit the concentration camps to no more than two - it is very hard on the heart and mind. This camp is different than the others in the way it was run and the design. It has a single watch tower with guards and guns and the barrcaks facing the tower. A lot of the original buildings have been demolised, but two of the barracks were rebuilt using the original timber. Definately go and see this -- it's a part of history that must never be repeated.

We had a great tour guide very informative. He had lots of facts about the camp, with great knowledge behind the history. Would definitely do this again.
