Hobart Cycling and Kayaking Adventure Tour

Experience Hobart from two different perspectives. Paddle the Hobart waterfront on a gentle sea kayak and join the Mt Wellington Descent for an action packed half day adventure.

If the Mt Wellington Descent isn't quite enough for you, add a two hour sea kayak to the tour and make the ultimate five hour Hobart adventure tour.

Start your day at 9.30am with a wake up call on the Mt Wellington Descent. Nothing could be more sobering than a 21 kilometer downhill bike ride on the Mt Wellington Descent. Ride from the summit back to sea level then jump in a sea kayak and hit the water with a two hour paddle. This gentle sea kayak takes you around Battery Point around to the landmark Wrest Point Tower and back again. See Hobart from the water for a completely different perspective. Morning tea is included.

You'll be provided with a 21 or 48-speed mountain bike with front suspension. The bikes have flat pedals for most comfortable riding in sneakers. The seat post has a quick release system allowing the seat to move up or down ensuring the best fit on your bike. We have a range of bike sizes from adults x-small to x-large frames. These bikes fit people who are over 150cm in height. An adjustable helmet, gloves, warm fleece jacket and rain jacket are all provided in the tour. Your guide will ride with you all the way from the summit into town, for larger groups there are more guides. There is a ratio of 1 guide per 5 guests.

Cycling: If you've ridden a bike before, and can hang on and steer, then you'll be fine. You don't need to be fit to ride down the mountain. There's an opportunity for approximately 5km of fun off-road trail riding at the base of the mountain which includes some hills, but this is optional. Once you get off the mountain, the roads are mostly flat, in some cases there are some gentle inclines.

Sea kayaking: A double sea kayak and paddle is provided, if you are a single traveller, you will share a double with another guest or a guide. Sea kayaking skirt, PFD (life jacket), waterproof kag and warm fleece jumper for underneath are also provided. All sea kayaks are adjustable for varying heights.

• Tour is not recommended for children aged 7 years and under
• For comfort and safety reasons, there is a minimum height requirement of 150cm
• Trips will be no larger than 20 people, with a minimum of 2 people required for trip departures.
