Head along the Pan-American Highway from Puerto Montt to Frutillar on a guided day trip. Pause briefly at the small town of Llanquihue, before taking the old lakeside road to a viewpoint with a monument to the German colonists of this area. This area is known for its agriculture and cattle.

Arriving at Frutillar, admire the colonial style houses and the beautiful gardens. Every year in January and February there is a wonderful music festival here (26th Jan to 4th Feb).

Visit the lakeshore and the colonial museum which displays how the German colony here constructed their lives. Lunch or snack with free time to wander around before returning to the hotel.
