Experience Kakadu National Park, an area of great natural beauty and sweeping landscapes on this 2-day trip from Darwin. Cruise the Yellow Waters, where crocodiles, birds and occasionally wild horses are seen amongst paperbark forests and freshwater mangroves, visit Arnhem Land by 4WD, home to many different Aboriginal clan groups for thousands of years and reflect on the intimate relationship the traditional owners have with this sacred land.

Day 1: Darwin - Nourlangie Rock Art - Warradjan Cultural Center - Yellow Water Cruise - Kakadu National Park (Lunch provided)

Depart Darwin and travel through Humpty Doo to Kakadu National Park. The parks wetlands and ancient escarpment are home to a profusion of fauna and flora, and have outstanding natural and cultural significance. Call into Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre then join a guided cruise on Kakadu's Yellow Water billabong, keeping a lookout for crocodiles and birdlife. After a delicious lunch, visit one of the most significant art sites in the park, Nourlangie Rock, to see Aboriginal rock paintings dating back thousands of years.

Day 2: Kakadu National Park - Arnhem Land Adventure - Mikinj Valley - Oenpelli Aboriginal Settlement - Darwin (Lunch provided)

Today join a 4WD vehicle and ford the East Alligator River to enter Arnhem Land. Visit the famous Oenpelli Art Gallery and explore the rarely-visited Mikinj Valley. Travel through this majestic region, dotted with sandstone outcrops and escarpments, forests and billabongs. Your Aboriginal guide will provide informative commentary along the way. Learn about bush skills and hunting techniques. You will also be privileged to view a display of Aboriginal art in its natural state - no barriers or fences. Stop at Window on the Wetlands for complimentary drinks while watching the magnificent view then return to Darwin.

Clothing:

You will find that casual clothing of all types is the most comfortable. Lightweight drip-dry clothing is ideal, although some warmer clothing for evenings will be handy. Most hotels provide washing and drying facilities. Comfortable shoes are essential on all tours and we suggest that you also pack a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a torch and insect repellent.

Luggage Limits:

Each passenger may take one suitcase, the sum of its width, length and depth not to exceed 160cm (63inches) and a weight limit of 20 kilograms (44 pounds). Airlines generally permit 1 cabin bag per person to be carried on aircraft. Baggage is entirely at owners risk during the tour and the operator strongly recommends travel insurance to be taken out by the passenger to cover baggage and any unforeseen circumstances.

Please Note:

If any passenger requires special assistance, due to their disabilities or conditions, the operator requests that suitable written notice be given to allow for appropriate planning. Requests for disabled rooms will be passed on to hotels, but cannot be guaranteed.

  • Maximum of 3 passengers per room. If you are traveling with a party of 4 travelers or more, you must make 2 separate bookings.
  • Children aged between 4 and 14 years inclusive qualify for child rate, providing they are sharing a room with 2 or more adults, and utilize existing bedding.
  • Infants aged 3 years and under are free of charge, providing they are not occupying a coach seat.

If you cancel at least 29 day(s) in advance of the scheduled departure, there is no cancellation fee.
If you cancel within 28 day(s) of the scheduled departure, there is a 100 per cent cancellation fee.
