Most of the stresses associated with traveling to and from a site like Neuschwanstein were totally relieved by Viator in the planning, and by our guide in the actual tour. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about the castle and the king who built it, the information was delivered in an entertaining way. He made sure every tour member had an opportunity to get all the pertinent facts, but he answered questions in a way that gave us new insight into the life and character of Ludwig II. As an older traveler, I appreciated his regard for my well-being, while making sure I did not miss a thing on this tour.

Guide was excellent, and she took us the back way down and got to see the river/waterfalls. Overall a great experience and would book again. All male party, 25-27yo from USA.

Very beautiful scenary in the surrounds of the castle. Lots of history in the area. Neuschwanstein is still quite modern considering it was built in the late 1800's. The inside of the castle is beautiful, however you're not allowed to take any pictures. Which is a shame, especially in the throne room. There were very few rooms that were finished, but they were decorated so elaborately.
Our guide was great. Make sure you wear sturdy shoes as there is a bit of walking to do. Most of it is very steep. Optional of course, as there are horse and cart rides and bus rides available to the castle from Fussen.

Ian was a great guide, and we enjoyed a beautiful day. The hiking was strenuous even thought I was prepared (we took a short cut up the mountain and followed a river down hill).

The castle is beautiful, the views are breathtaking and our guide Mike was FANTASTIC!!! Just make sure you wear comfortable shoes because the castle is in a steep hill and you will have to walk a lot. At the end of the tour you can choose if you want to go down the hill through the normal street (walking) or the "scenic route" which is beautiful becuse you get to see waterfalls but this not a great option for people with walking disabilities or afraid of heights.
The inside of the castle was pretty but no big deal. I've seen better....
