Take a break from skiing and experience the wonders of the Maligne Canyon during this small-group winter wonderland icewalk in the heart of Jasper National Park. Your guide will lead you safely along the frozen canyon floor through its maze of fascinating natural ice sculptures. Explore ice caves, the entrance to a cave system, fossils and towering frozen waterfalls stretching nearly 100 feet (30 meters) up the canyon walls! You will be provided with tread- enhancing cleats and cozy winter boots to help you stay warm and feel secure while walking on the ice.

Don’t miss experiencing the pure beauty and serenity of Maligne Canyon during the winter months! This 3-hour guided icewalk takes you into the heart of the valley. Departing from the Jasper Townsite, your tour starts with a short 15 minute drive that leads you up into the Maligne Valley. When you arrive, you will be fitted with warm winter boots and tread-enhancing cleats that make it easier to walk on the ice.
During your 2-hours of walking along the canyon floor, you'll see awe-inspiring ice sculptures, ice caves and fossils. One of the highlights of your trek is sure to be the impressive frozen waterfalls, which can be as tall as 98 feet (30 meters)! As you walk in your small group (which ensures a more personal experience), your guide will explain everything you're seeing along the way.
The Night Tour at 6pm is the same itinerary, but done through twilight and into the night. Headlamps are provided in addition to boots and cleats. This is a totally unique experience and is one not to be missed!
