Fantastic tour and the guide was great. Ideal tour for doing your own thing. Views were absolutely stunning and we loved Lucerne.

The tour left 30 minutes behind schedule due to a couple who was late. My itinerary was of course late as well but we manage to work around it. Upon reaching the first stop where you catch the train there was construction going on in the area and there were no signs directing to where the train stop and no english translation either. We manage to get to the train as I beg the lady to let us in even though we were not on the station. This is the only confusing part. As we went to the top of Mt. Rigi the view is magnificent seeing all the Swiss Alps. We stayed for about an hour and took the train to Vitznau and boat to Luzern and spend a couple of hours there. As soon as you enter the boat go to the cashier and show your receipt to exchange for a real ticket. The views from the cable car to the train and boat are beautiful and breathtaking. It was worth it and in addition the weather was perfect. I especially like this tour because I have the flexibility of doing things on my own and met with the rest of the group to take the bus back to Zurich.

Fortunately it was a lovely day at Zurich and en route to Rigi Kulm, Vitznau and Lucerne. The last time I went in 2000 the guide came with us to Rigi, Lucerne told us a lot of local stories and we had some hot wine served to skiers back from a run. This time the bus dropped us off at Arth Goldau and proceeded on to pick us up back at Lucerne at 6 pm. Not a problem except missing out on some local stories.
