Irene was an excellent, informative guide. The overall hike was very pleasant and a much needed break from tourist overrun Vienna. While this is truly more of a hike than a nature walk, it is very relaxing and well worth the money. FIVE STARS Irene!

We enjoyed a brisk walk with our excellent guide, Irene, however we were a little bemused to find the Cog train had not run for over 100 years. We had expected to travel up the mountain on the train and walk from the top. The Grade was around a 3 level, and luckily we were fit enough to complete the steep gradiient. The countryside was beautiful and a welcome respite from the busyness of Vienna.

This trip was booked with the misconception that the climb was to be achieved via a cog railway; an attraction for our grandson. The railway has been out of commission for 80 years.A requirement of average fitness vastly understates the reality. A gruelling clamber upwards for over an extened period. The fact that you had to use and pay for public transport to get to the Kahlenberg hill was also a bit of a surprise.
