Tour guide was excellent!

I really enjoyed my time during the tour. The guide was very cool and made sure we know what we were looking at. I just wish we could have spent a whole day there. You must see the Tijuca Rain Forest.

An easy half day tour first to a botanical garden then the forest. Great views of Rio seen on this tour. The forest at one time was a French coffee plantation, it took the Brazilian government 15 years to replant with natural vegetation.

Horrible! Jeep showed up to the hotel 1 hour late. Stopped at a mini mart 10 minutes into the trip, so that tourist could buy water for the 50min hike. Stayed at the mini mart for 20 minutes. While in the Tijuca forest, guide drove by many scenic overlooks and historical spots, but did not stop. Guide started to fall asleep in back of jeep. The 50 min hike that we stopped to get water for, never happened. Tour ended at the same time, even though it was an hour late. The hotel staff at the hotel that we stayed at, said that the Jeep Tours always showed up late. Overall, this was the worst tour that I have been on. Everyone on this tour felt like they were ripped off and the 50 min hike that was included in the price, never happened.

this tour was extremely dissapointing. the guide hardly spoke any english and pretty basic spanish so we couldnt really communicate. the "light hike" was 5min walk. the tour, if done by taxi would cost a fraction of the price as there is no entry charge to the forest and taxis in rio are very reasonable. so since there was no guided element it would have been the same outcome. lastly it was raining on the day, and the guide only gave us plastic raincover when we asked for it. they didnt even have enough covers for everyone and wanted to charge 5BRL for it. extremely dissapointing and would not recommend.
