We thoroughly enjoyed our day at Kennedy Space Centre, with the added bonus of witnessing the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis -- truly a once in a lifetime experience for my husband and I. Our day began very early, but we were able to tour the Kennedy Space Centre before and after the launch and because it was a tour we were able to relax and enjoy the scenery while someone else did the driving. We also saw more wildlife -- mainly alligators -- than we did on an airboat ride in the everglades in Miami.

Launches are well known for being cancelled or moved, but you have to take the chance if one is scheduled during your trip. It was a memorable experience.
