Excellent day trip from Munich, with a very knowledgeable local guide. Documentation centre is also very good, and a "must see" part of the tour.

The Eagles Nest was still closed for winter so we were taken to the Documentation Centre and the Salt mines in Berchtesgarden. Both trips were well organised and the vist to the salt mines was great fun. Knowledgeable and courteous guides, good buses and enough time for rests.

We enjoyed the visit to the Bavarian mountains, the beautiful scenery and the visit to the documentation centre at Berchtesgaden. However we were very disappointed that the visit to the Eagle's Nest did not take place due to weather conditions. My husband and I chose not to go down the salt times which was offered as an alternative. There seems to be a 50 50 chance that the Eagle's Nest part of the tour goes ahead.

The day was quite enjoyable albeit a bit disappointing because we were not told until we got to the bus that the Eagle's Nest was closed. It would have been nice to know before hand so we might have chosen a different tour. Gunter, our guide was excellent as well as Uta who was with us for a short time on the way. The substitute trip to the Salt Mines was interesting. I would recommend this tour as the Alps and the views were amazing. We may decide to go back to Eagle's Nest when it is open.
