Good trip, but very long day. Held up over and hour at Chinese border with visa problems. Long coach ride to canton, but overall trip well worth it. Guide was very knowledgeable.

Overall a tour worth the trip. If you want to get a flavor of China in one day, this tour provides it. Well organized, kept to a schedule and the guide was great.
I suspect the first stop is a requirement by the tourism authority. It is basically a sales room for jade products with some Chinese artifacts in the entry room. It is by no means a museum or great representation of the Terra Cottta warriors - just a few actual examples of them. You will spend 10 minutes in the museum and another 50 minutes in the jade shop.
The Pandas are in a zoo - not in a "safari park". If you have seen pandas before, you may be disappointed. You enter the zoo, run to the Pandas, spend 10 minutes taking some pictures then off to the next stop.
The walk thru the markets and seeing the surrounding areas were the highlights for us. It was over the Easter holidays, so schools were closed, so we did not see the kindergarten.
Still, with all that said above, we felt it was worthwhile. We were in mainland China for the day. Was able to see the country side and markets. Lunch was in a "famous old restaurant",but has seen better days and is clearly set up for tourists. Food and service was good tho.
The day was well organized and the guide extremely helpful and friendly.
We were 2 adults with one 12 year old child. She enjoyed it as well. Westerners stick out. People are very friendly and some curious enough to try their English.
