The team replied promptly when I inquired about immigration paperwork. First impression before arrival was good.

Depending on where your hotel would be, a shuttle taxi would take you to join the others in a bigger coach. Ivona was our guide and she is very knowledgeable with a great sense of humour. As passengers who have booked this journey should have noticed that the itinerary covers a vast distance, therefore please expect a long day on the bus. Nevertheless, it was worthwhile!

Immigration process depends on your luck. There are lots of tour buses going from Dubrovnik to Montenegro so if you are stuck behind others, you will have to wait.

Kotor Bay is absolutely beautiful and this tour focuses half of the duration there. Find your way up the defence wall on Kotor Old Town, you will have a good view of the harbour and old town.
We were not forced to buy any smoked ham sandwich but the tour does stop over at a ham factory for a toilet/lunch break. The local smoked ham was delicious and unique.

We drove through a several small towns but did not have time to stop over. Ferry ride back from Perast was fun and not all bus tour does this. From our current research, Viator offers the cheapest price compared to local tour agents.

I would definitely recommend this trip despite the early start! It was a shame that there wasn't enough time to include lunch during the stop at Kotor but wouldn't have missed this trip for the world. A real highlight of our holiday.

This is a full day tour that visits 2 different towns, Kotor and Budva in Montenegro. Unfortunately, we spent 90 minutes picking up all the participants of the tour and another hour senting everybody back. [I was the first to board and last to depart since i am staying in Gruz port.] Both Kotor and Budva are nice small towns to visit but the stopover time is too short, especially for Kotor. The view of the Kotor Bay/fjord (only fjord in europe besides those in Norway) is definitely worth the time but the lunch in the restaturant was a real letdown. (only ham and cheese sandwich with a drink available for sale.) I do recommend this tour for the view of the Kotor Bay/fjord.

Unfortunately a very poor day weather-wise, and the trip felt like a very long way to see Kotor in the rain, and mountains shrouded in mist and rain. I felt as if the day had been padded out just to make a full day trip, although I'm sure I was jaundiced by the very poor conditions.

To sum up:
12 hour day *minus* 2 hours of actual sightseeing *equals* 10 hours on a bus. I've done several tours with Viator but I have never been so dissatisfied as I was w/this one. The tour operator was "running late" which implies that normally they "run on time" which if you read enough reviews here you'll notice that "running late" is their standard operating procedure. Given that, it would have only given us one more hour in Budva. Basically a waste of an entire vacation day. So if you have more vaca time than you know what to do with and want to squander it, this tour is for you!
